Every family is different, and there is no right or wrong way to farewell someone you love. These are the four main options available to your family — each can be arranged at your own pace, with as much or as little ceremony as feels right.
Unattended Cremation
A cremation arranged without a formal funeral service. We collect and care for your loved one, manage all paperwork, and carry out the cremation at Rockingham Memorial Park or Fremantle Crematorium. Your family receives the ashes and can hold a private memorial in your own time. Some providers call this a "direct cremation" — it is the same service.
Full details, inclusions, and how to arrange an unattended cremation →Cremation with Service
A funeral service at our Port Kennedy chapel, a church, or another venue of your choosing — followed by cremation. This gives your family the opportunity to gather, share memories, and say goodbye together. Services can be as simple or as personalised as you wish, from a quiet chapel service for close family through to a larger celebration of life.
Full details, inclusions, and how to arrange a cremation with service →Burial Services
A funeral service followed by burial at a cemetery of your family's choosing. We coordinate everything with the cemetery, including plot selection, permits, and logistics. Burial services can include a chapel service beforehand, a graveside-only farewell, or both. Our pricing covers our professional services — cemetery fees are separate and vary by location.

Arrange and pay for your funeral now, so your family does not have to make decisions during their grief. Prepaid plans cover cremation or burial, attended or unattended, and the price is locked in at today's rate. Your funds are held in a protected trust — not by Greenfields — until they are needed. WA Seniors Card holders receive a $250 discount when arranging in person at our Port Kennedy office.
Full details, pricing, and how prepaid plans work →Every price above is the complete Greenfields fee — nothing more to pay. We publish our pricing because we believe families should know what things cost before they call. There are no hidden charges, no extras added during the arrangement process, and no pressure toward any particular option.
How Families Choose
There is no urgency to decide immediately. When you call us, we will talk through each option with you and help you find what feels right for your family and your loved one. Here are the most common considerations.
-
Cremation or burial
This is often the first decision. Some families have a clear preference, sometimes based on faith, culture, or their loved one's wishes. Others are open to either. Both are equally valid, and we can explain the practical differences — including timing, costs, and where each can take place — when you call.
-
Whether to have a formal service
A funeral service gives your family a place and time to gather, share memories, and say goodbye together. But not every family wants or needs a formal ceremony. An unattended cremation gives your family the flexibility to hold a private memorial later — at home, at a park, at the beach — whenever and however feels right.
-
Timing and pace
Some families want to arrange a farewell within a few days. Others need more time — to wait for family to travel, to process what has happened, or simply to make decisions at their own pace. We care for your loved one in our own mortuary at Port Kennedy for as long as you need. There is no rush.
-
Who will be there
A quiet farewell with a handful of people close to your loved one can be just as meaningful as a service for two hundred. We can arrange a chapel service at Port Kennedy, a church service, a gathering at a community venue, or a graveside farewell — whatever suits your family's wishes and your loved one's personality.
-
Budget
We understand that cost matters, and we are straightforward about pricing. An unattended cremation from $4,260 is a complete, dignified farewell at a lower price point. A cremation with service from $6,950 includes everything your family needs for a chapel or church funeral. Every price we publish is the full fee — no surprises.

Call 1300 69 79 89An Independent Alternative
Greenfields is an independent, family-owned funeral provider. We are not part of a corporate chain, we do not operate under multiple brand names, and we answer to the families we serve — not to shareholders or a head office interstate.
Several funeral homes across Perth, Rockingham, and Mandurah that appear to be independent are actually owned by large national corporations. We believe families have the right to know who they are dealing with, how their pricing works, and whether the person they speak to on the phone is the same person who will care for their loved one.
Our Own Mortuary & Chapel
Your loved one is cared for at our Port Kennedy facility — not transferred to a third-party mortuary. Families are welcome to visit and spend private time with their loved one before a cremation or burial.
Same Person, Start to Finish
The funeral director you speak to first is the same person who cares for your loved one, guides your family through planning, and stands with you at the service. No handoffs, no departments.
Transparent Pricing
Our prices are published on this website. Every package includes everything your family needs, with potential extras disclosed upfront. We do not add charges during the arrangement process.
Available 24 Hours, 7 Days
When you call 1300 69 79 89, a real person answers — day or night, weekends and public holidays. We provide evening and overnight collection from homes, hospitals, and aged care facilities.
"From the first phone call to the service, Kylie made everything so easy for our family. We never felt rushed or pressured. She handled everything with such care."

Frequently Asked Questions
What should we do first after someone passes away?
Call us on 1300 69 79 89 — any time of day or night. We will guide you through exactly what needs to happen and take care of collecting your loved one from hospital, aged care, home, or wherever they are. You do not need to have anything decided before you call.
What is the difference between an unattended cremation and a cremation with service?
An unattended cremation is a cremation arranged without a formal funeral service — we care for your loved one, manage all paperwork, and carry out the cremation. Your family receives the ashes and can hold a private memorial later. A cremation with service includes a funeral service at a chapel, church, or other venue before the cremation, giving your family a time and place to gather and say goodbye together.
How much does a funeral cost?
An unattended cremation starts from $4,260. A cremation with service or a burial service starts from $6,950. Prepaid plans start from $4,555. Every price we publish is the complete Greenfields fee with nothing more to pay. We provide a full pricing breakdown on our website so your family can understand costs before calling.
Is Greenfields independently owned?
Yes. Greenfields is a family-owned, independent funeral provider. We are not part of a corporate group, we do not operate under multiple brand names, and every decision is made locally by the people who care for your family. Our owner lives in the community we serve.
Where can funeral services be held?
Services can be held at our Port Kennedy chapel, at a church, at a community venue, at a crematorium chapel, graveside at a cemetery, or at a private location. We help families find a setting that suits their loved one's personality and their family's wishes.
Do we need to decide everything straight away?
No. We care for your loved one in our own mortuary at Port Kennedy for as long as your family needs. There is no rush to make decisions. When you are ready, the same funeral director who first spoke with you will guide you through everything at your own pace.
Can we see our loved one before the cremation or burial?
Yes. Families are welcome to visit our Port Kennedy chapel for private time with their loved one. This is available for all funeral types, including unattended cremation. We will arrange a time that suits your family.
How do prepaid funerals work?
A prepaid funeral lets you arrange and pay for your funeral at today's price, so your family does not have to make decisions or meet costs during their grief. Your funds are held in a government-regulated trust — not by Greenfields — until they are needed. You can choose any type of service, and WA Seniors Card holders receive a $250 discount when arranging in person.
